I like that the shelving on the doors are deep. It obviously takes away from some of the interior shelving space, but deeper shelving means items get pushed to the back and become lost and forgotten. Items that could get lost at the back of the frig are now available on the door of the frig. The same is true of the freezer space. The frig operates quietly

Just installed (almost 1 month). Everything seems to be operating just fine. Like the interior capacity, shelving set-up, open spaces, fridge lighting, keeps an even temperature throughout, and the icemaker that comes with this fridge. Would have liked to fit in at least a 21-22 cubic foot refrigerator, but finding this 19.2 cf one holds quite a lot (29™€ opening limits what can pass through). Like the stainless steel finish. Not smudge protected but able to keep the exterior fairly clean. Not overly noisy. Pleased so far with this GE Appliance top freezer model.

Horrible ! There is no room on the shelves, if you put something in the back you can forget about it and not even see it. to get to the bottom shelf on the door you have to get on your knees. Whoever designed the interior of this refrigerator had no idea of what they were doing.

New GE unit replaced 10 year old Maytag. Were looking for as close of an equivalent as possible for fit into a built in cabinet area. Very pleased with results. Case size and fit is almost exact. Door opening in cabinet is improved. Looks are almost exact. Unit, freezer and frig, cooling temps are improved, great, however, there is no way to adjust freezer separate from the frig. I think it either has 1 proportionate cooling ratio or adjusts automatically as a single cooling adjustment 1 to 4 or 5 is selected. But, both top and bottom cool well. Cooling level adjustment is incremental 1 to 4 or 5, not continuously selected. Unit is on thelouder side compared to old unit, but not too loud. Quality is very good. Arrangement of shelving and storage is improved over old unit and is very efficient. Good buy.

Bad freezer door all the way around

This is the third GE refrigerator with top freezer. I have owned in approximately two months the other two models or it was the same model I should say ended up having a flat in the top freezer were air was making condensation in it and you can see where the gap was in the freezer box. This particular model is doing the same thing yet you are making them replace the gasket on this which the gentleman was here says the door shuts fine and looks like the gasket is covering that spot. I haven™€™t even had this one since September 17 is when this was delivered to my house and within two days it™€™s already had this Issue very bad quality control with GE and I was told that GE would be a good brand to get because I had a Frigidaire that the whole motherboard went out on and it wasn™€™t even two years old so I thought GE would be great. I am having issues like the same thing. You can see the difference in the freezer but you guys don™€™t seem to really care as well as your lack of communication with your GE solution specialist as well.

Difficult to balance. The previous unit had no issue and it was in the same location. The inlet to the water valve is missing the nut to secre the water line. My last fridge had the nut needed for installation. Not a good start. My last fridge was not a GE. I spent over 600 more to buy a GE replacement because of GE s reputation.

Do NOT like the glass shelves that are in refrigerators today. There should be at least one wire shelf. Will the glass shelf hold a 30 pound turkey- frozen - to thaw? What is the weight capacity of a glass shelf? Capacity is good- cooling is good-dimensions are right for where it is-don't know about the energy saver yet- will see on the next bill.

Very reliable, affordable, and simple to use. The icemaker is functional and easy to maintain. Having the unit placed inside the entire frozen food section makes it more reliable then being in the main part of the fridge and causing the ice to partially melt and jam, like my last refrigerator.

Upon installation freezer cooled quickly but fridge took a while to cool down. Both are working fine after cool down. Only thing I might have done differently is get one with the freezer on the bottom instead of the top since we use the fridge section alot more.

Not liking theis fridge. Ithe freezer is too tall, so refrigerator portion is too low. The big bins on the door are convenient, but it causes the shelves to be set way in. Finally, the outside is very hard to clean as it does not resist fingerprints.

I purchased this unit in 2/24 as size was a major factor in my kitchen. 1. The unit sits too low. When you open the door to the refrigerator the shelves are placed down far. I think the bottom of the freezer comes down too low. So when you look into the refrigerator you really have be bend--almost a squat to reach for anything on the shelves. If you raise the first shelf to the higest slot, nothing tall can fit on the first shelf--not even a water bottle. 2. Raising or lowering the second shelf is also a struggle becuase there is the sliding deli drawer. Whether you place it on the left, right or middle will obstruct anthing that you have on the shelf below. 3. Crisper drawers---the temperature is not regulated. The drawers slide out OK, but sill very plastic. These two drawers are on the bottom of the refrigerator. Keeping in mind that the refrigerator sits low so you really have to bend. 4. There is a butter condo which is a plus. 5. There are only two adjustable shelves on the refrigerator door. I think these shelves are mearly meant for the larger containers---milk, juices, etc. Or for many condiments that you can cram into the shelf. If not the items will move on the shelf. 6. There is a shelf-at the way bottom of the door---and since the refrigerator is so low, its practically on the floor. This shelf is useless. It is blocked by the shelves above. This shelf is for the items that are hardly used---if ever. Useless. 7. Temperature control, There is only one temperatur control for the refrigerator and the freezer. How one control can be used for the freezer and regrigerator is a concern. One does not wat freezer burn on the frozen items, but one does not want produce to rot becuase of the wrong temperature. 8. Staninless steel-- Magnets stick to this refrigerator---is it really stainless steel. 9. Fingerprints. DO NOT PURCHASE this unit if you have a family. This unit is not fingerpint resistent and stainless steel cleaner MUST be used. 10. Ice maker--The ice maker is LOUD whent water is filling. The cubes are dispensed in trios. GE states this is normal. Normal if you want an ice pick when needing cubes 11. The unit is quiet 12. Doors--the doors swing wide. Make sure that on install that that the unit is balanced. The unit is a disappointment. Take your time to research other units before purchasing this one.

GIE19JSNRSS Top Freezer Refrigerator With Handle And Icemaker With Energy Star Energy 19 Cubic Feet Capacity - Installed today--First of all, the refrigerator section is too low. You have to bend to see what is on the shelves. The very last shelf on the refrigerator door is useless. One can use this for condements that are never used-if hardly at all. The shelves are far from adjustable. If you move the first shelf higher, any tall items will hit the roof of the refrigerator. If you lower the shelf with the "adjustable deli draw" then area above the crispers draws is cannot be used. One must use stainless steel cleaner on the refrigerator. This refrigerator attracts fingerprints. The concept of this refrigerator is to use the door for the larger containers--milk, OJ--etc. The refrigerator is for all other items. There is a butter condo which is a plus (maybe the only plus). No crate for eggs--so keep your old one if possible. The ice made a few cubes which are sticking together. I think they come out as clumps. There is only one control for the temp of the freezer and refrigerator. One pathetic light for the refrigerator and none for the freezer. Purchased this refrigerator with ice maker and from what I can see the ice comes out in clumps. Ice maker noice is LOUD. The refrigerator and freezer doors swing out-freely.--and do not stop unless the door is held. The refrigerator is quiet, but seems to always run. The plastic drawers have zero substance. This refrigerator replaced a 20 year old Maytag. The GE is subpar to the 20 year old refrigerator. If size and ice maker were not issues, I would have passed on this refrigerator. Do your homework and research!

GE Top Freezer Refrigerator

Although I have been extremely satisfied with my original GE refrigerator provided by the builder 23 years ago, I decided to continue to stay with the GE brand. However, the performance to date is a little disappointing. The recommended temperature setting for the frig is 3 which is the same as my previous refrigerator. What I have notice is that the frig does not keep items cool unless they are on the top shelve. But if I raise the temperature to 4 (which is still within the recommended range), items on the other shelves do seem to get cooler, but the items on the first shelve will freeze.

Large capacity in the fridge area and you will be surprised how much it holds! The freezer also has a lot of room and a large bin for ice. Only one con that I can see is that it is a little low for me, but that is not a game changer since you know the cubic inch/size when you buy it. I like this fridge!

I was not wanting a top freezer model, but that is the only model that would fit in our space. I am glad that I ended up with this refrigerator!! I LOVE IT!!

Low to the ground

I bought a house and it came with this refrigerator. The person I bought the house from was elderly and in a wheelchair occasionally. Is this refrigerator designed for people that are wheelchair bound? I ask because you can break your back bending down to get anything from the lower portion of the fridge. It is very low to the ground. Is there a way to raise the whole fridge up higher? Aside from this it works fine.

Refrigerator has wide space in cooling and freezer area. Freezes 1 gallon water in 30 minutes.
