We have always had built-in dishwashers in every home we've lived in, so when we recently moved into a house without space or plumbing for one, we had to look for an alternative. After a lot of research, we decided on this GE portable dishwasher with a stainless steel interior and exterior.
We couldn't be happier with our decision. It cleans dishes exceptionally well, operates very quietly, and is easy to move and connect when needed. It has performed just as well as the built-in dishwashers we've owned in the past. We haven't regretted this purchase for a moment and would highly recommend the GE portable dishwasher to anyone who needs a portable unit.

bad dishwasher. the way the silverware basket is designed is horrible. you lift it, the handle comes up, then if you tilt it at all, the handle will come out completely and your basket will fall. i had to zip tie the handle in place so this would stop.
next is the hose. it seems like an afterthought. like others point out, it doesnt get put away properly. it always hangs out. im going to need to 3d print some type of closure mechanism to stop this.
Finally, and im not sure if this is a design flaw or i just got a bad one, but the lower sliding tray always comes off the rails. There is these two pieces in the back that are bent down on purpose to act like a stopper when you pull the tray out, and on mine only the right side is actually long enough to make contact with the door and stop the thing from coming out.
this is a huge problem when the other side doesnt stop, it then throws the thing out of alignment, and when you try to push the tray back in it doesnt want to go, so you need to lift and manually align everytime.
it washes dishes OK, but nothing crazy. i have to use the HEAVY load setting to make sure they get done well. there is no dryer.
not really impressed with this.

I previously had a review for the 18 inch dishwasher and thankfully I was able to return it. My review was made in haste as I had a full size portable for the last 20 years so the old one was a lot easier to work (just turned a knob). After I got used to the electronic panel and now that I have the full size, I couldn™™t be more happier with my purchase now. This is the most quiet appliance in my house and does an excellent job at cleaning the dishes!

The unicoupler started getting loose about 6 months in, now it won't hold to the faucet at all and the whole thing will need to be warrantied. To have the thing held with cheap plastic when it could have been metal lock on the adapter is just being cheap.

Had this dishwasher for 2 months. Was watching movie on the couch and got up to grab a drink to see my kitchen FLOODED!!!
Called GE for repair and they sent service tech 2 weeks later, service tech found the water leak location but didn't understand why it was leaking specifically from the side vent (visible water build up from the flood) so he recommend a new sprayer (hes never seen this happen before and was baffled... replaced sprayer which was still happening after replacement. I called GE back and they sent a second company for a double take to see if they could repair it. The repair company said that they couldnt and that GE needs to credit or replace it (which i confirmed with the service tech) GE called me today saying the service tech said they didn't find anything wrong with my machine yet my flooring says otherwise ð GE told me I was out $944 with a machine that they cant fix or replace (again 2 months old when I opened up the claim) and i busted my butt to purchase as im not rich. AVOID THEM. Not to mention we purchased a new GE washer &dryer back in May 2025 and the following month the start button wasn't working.. cheap company & products

I love the stainless-steel interior! I'm still struggling with the setup of the racks. It is difficult to arrange my larger dishes. The hookup hose is really too short to barely reach my faucet. I have had several portable dishwashers and this has never been a problem. it does clean very well!

For the price, it does the job. However, a heated dry should be standard on these. If it had that, it'd be great!! It holds enough dishes for our limited family. I do like the metal stainless tub inside.

I am very disappointed that this unit does not have heated dry like my old one. With the way the bottom rack is made you lose a lot of capacity if you put in a large baking dish like a 9x13 pan or even an 8x8 pan. There is not enough room around the edges to put these so as not to take up a large portion of the space. My old portable did not have these issues but after 15 years, it was having issues and needed to be replaced.

This product has delivered by a major home repair store. After unboxing, putting on the caster wheels, and removing the plastic wrap, we loaded it and started it.
About three minutes later when it grabbed water it promptly spilled all the water all over our floor, ruining it (warping) and continued to do so.

We are really loving this dishwasher! It cleans everything perfectly on the light cycle. It's easy to roll into place and easy to attach to the faucet. We couldn't make a permanent dishwasher work in our space, so this is the next best thing. Definitely worth the extra cost.

I will never buy another ge dishwasher I had one that I loved and switched to this one and I absolutely hate it I have had it for 3 years and I have had trouble with it making my dishes smell like rotten fish I cleaned the filter once a week and the inside but still have trouble with the smell now even after I clean it the next day it smells. I would not recommend this dishwasher at all. I am looking at buying another dishwasher but different brand

I do not like this machine at all. I would give it zero stars if the format would allow. So 1 star for being quiet. It is very quiet, and I have no complaint on its cleaning ability. Although it does take a long time to wash. My old machine did not take as long.
I really dislike the rack designs and the fact that it doesn't have a dry cycle like my old one. If you like to towel dry your dishes or constantly be on alert to open the door to let them air dry while it is still hot, then you might be happy with this machine. Also the bottom rack does not easily roll out onto the open door. It seems to always jump its track, or something impedes the smooth operation. Perhaps its just my particular utensil set and tine spacing that my forks seem to fall through the basket and stop the bottom rack from sliding out. Yes, I could learn to keep the forks pointing upward to prevent that, but I am of the mindset that pointy things should point down in order to prevent accidental injuries to hands.
I do not care for the stainless steel door because it shows all the fingerprints.
I hate the design of the retractable hose and power cord for 2 reasons. 1) is that it's not centered on the machine and requires the machine to be offset in front of the sink in order to reach the electric receptacle. This makes my small kitchen space even less usable when the dishwasher is in use. 2) is the quality and care put into the manufacture. It is awkward and twisted and does not easily pull out or retract, or even stay in the recess that is there to store the faucet connection.
I really wanted to like this machine, but I cannot wait to replace it.

Worked well for 3 years and then tried to burn the house down. The dangerous part is the washer will still run even with this damage. My mother couldn't smell the burning plastic so she ran it for a full cycle.

The racks spaces could be larger, especially the rear of the lower rack, the space is too small for large bowls, etc., also, the slots in the utensil basket could be larger to accommodate wide handle utensil, I end up having to hand wash those.

I was debating between the 24 and the 18 inch and I am so glad I went with the 24 inch! It hold so much more! The cycles are very quick and efficient. I really appreciate the sanitation feature the keep the interior spotless! The racks have a nice layout to make sure I can fit everything!

Beware! This dishwasher does not dry dishes. It is aesthetically awesome, but do not be fooled. Your dishes will stay wet for days. The actual procedure is to open the door as soon as the wash cycle is done and just walk around it for a few hours while your dishes dry inside. What's more is, you have to open the door as soon as it's done. So as soon as the green light comes on open the door, but the green light is hidden under the top of the unit. So even the controls are flawed. I was not told that this dishwasher does not complete the cycle of washing and drying and I was not aware that any company would be so deceitful to sell a dishwasher without a drying function. I am livid and I have reached out to GE and they have not personally responded. So again, unless you like wet dishes going into your cupboards do not buy this dishwasher! It is relatively useless.

Our other GE Dishwasher failed after eight years of ownership, hence the reason for going with another GE Dishwasher. We like the size, how quiet it is, placement of the buttons, but unfortunately, all the great features on this dishwasher are overpowered by the fact it does not have a drying cycle. Why would you build a great dishwasher and not have a drying cycle, maybe I'm wrong, but why would you want a dishwasher that only partially does what it is supposed to do? If we would have known it didn't have a drying cycle, we would have not purchased it. So, now we are researching dishwashers again, and making sure they have a drying cycle. GE, you dropped the ball on this dishwasher.

Not overly impressed. I keep having to unplug it to reset or something as it keeps beeping and won™™t start. The controls are on the inside of the door, I guess for a smooth finish but? I purchased this portable dishwasher in April 2023 and used it about 4 times a week. By September 2025 the control board completely died™"it won™™t start at all. I even paid $100 for my own technician to check everything, only to learn the control board itself is defective and would cost around $500 to replace.
For an appliance that cost this much and was used under normal conditions, this is extremely disappointing. I expected a dishwasher to last well beyond two and a half years, not require a major repair that™™s nearly half the price of a new unit. I cannot recommend this product and will look to a different brand next time.
