This is the model that was suggested to replace the old 2013 model. It seems to be a nice unit. It seems to feel a little cheaper made than the older model. It still has halogen range light instead of led. The biggest complaint is the installation I had to drill new mounting holes for the rear and over head mounting. Why there isn™€™t an industrial standard across the board or at a minimum by brand would be a big plus. I live in a home that was built in 2010 and apparently has had 3 microwave replacements as the number of holes I counted in the wall and cabinet. Overall the new unit is nice looking and does the job it was designed to do.

Bought this same model about 6 years ago Served its purpose had no problems till one day it just started coming on when you closed the door ! Did not push buttons just closed the door The new one is a lil different on the inside and they changed up the brackets on the Back for installation That Was Fun!!! Not. Not sure about the sound the door makes when opening it (kinda of Crunchy) hope this is not going to b a future problem. Two different Lowe's I've checked to see if they have this model on display to check how it's door sounds but no luck they only have the smaller one on display

We are replacing a 2017 model JVM7195FL with a 2025 same model. Cannot believe how cheaply made the 2025 model is compared to the 2017 model. Very disappointed with the quality. Also believed it would be a take out old and put in new one. Trust me it is start from scratch job. I do like GE products though.

I would give 5 stars but the humming/buzzing/ vibration sound coming from it is way louder than our last microwave oven. Getting used to the new to me options and I like them. I would not have bought this model if I had known it would be this noisy! Installation went as expected, not all than difficult other than the missing bolts.

After my 12-year-old Whirlpool finally stopped working, I decided to upgrade to this GE model to match my Black Slate range. Having used it for a bit now, here is my honest assessment: 1) I am very impressed with the sensor cooking. While I haven't done full meal prep in it yet, the reheat function is excellent. It consistently heats food perfectly without the typical "cold spots" you find in older units. 2) The Black Slate finish is beautiful. It™€™s a sophisticated, fingerprint-resistant matte look that fits perfectly in my kitchen and matches my other GE appliances seamlessly. 3) The interior space is generous and easily accommodates larger glass storage containers and plates. Certainly I felt some areas for Improvement: 1) Touchpad Sensitivity: I™€™ve found the buttons a bit stubborn. They don't respond to a light touch; you really have to give them a firm, deliberate press to get them to register. 2) Build Quality: Coming from a Whirlpool, the door on this unit feels significantly lighter and less "solid" when opening and closing. 3) Alignment: Upon very close inspection, the main door is slightly misaligned at the top. It™€™s not something you™€™d notice from a distance, but if you look minutely, the gap isn't perfectly uniform Regarding The delivery : My initial unit arrived with some minor dents/scratches on the door corner from the delivery process. I contacted customer care, and they were excellent™€"they sent a team to install a full replacement just a few days later. Pro tip: Inspect the corners and edges minutely before the delivery team leaves! Bot the times the installation guys were quick

Difference between 2 units

Replaced with same model that was 3 years old. New one is noisier , door doesn't seem as sturdy and unit is louder when heating. Also notice oven seems warm while light burns on low setting. Other than these issues unit seems to operate as expected .

We purchased the JVM7195FLDS back in February 25, 2025. I am happy to report, we have not had any issues with the controls or the performance of the over the range microwave. At first we questioned the power rating of being only 1000 watts/ (IEC-705 test procedure) when there are microwaves on the market that are 1500 watts. But suffice to say, it cooks any type of food that we have placed in it. From potatoes to processed foods, and of course pop-corn. I have read many concerns of the fan going on by itself. There are two instances that this happens. If your cook top range becomes too hot, or after placing something in the microwave, and heat has built up. This is absolutely normal. The lighting configuration was a bit of a disappointment. There is only one center bulb, and not very bright I might add. Other manufactures provide a light on both sides of the microwave. This can be remedied by providing an LED bulb with the same socket type. There is a history of GE's circuitry issues, in this case, the microwave. What is the probable cause? Steam from the cook-top below. When I have a pot of boiling water, I place the pot furthest from the microwaves control panel. And if that cannot be done, I place a lid to redirect the steam away from the area. Carbon Filter: This past week, I finally saw a little orange light indicating that the carbon filter needs to be changed. Now, I know that people have complained about the cost. However, there are alternatives. No, not to reuse them, because the are designed to be replaced. Think again. I have tried every feature possible on this model. They all work as advertised, and expected. With the exceptions of the lighting issue, I am happy with our microwave and hope it will last longer than five years.

So Far, So Good ™€¦

I have only had this up & running for a few days, but I already notice it is not nearly as rock-solid as my last GE Microwave, the Eterna Series, that lasted more than 15 years. This new one does work; I™€™m just hoping it lasts beyond the extended 5-yr warranty I felt I™€™d better buy. I wanted the next model up, but did not like the controls spread across the bottom. And the models above that all have the convection & air fryer, which I don™€™t need since I already have. I wanted to buy the closest match to my GE Eterna, but don™€™t feel that this one is even close. Price had a lot to do with my decision, since it skyrocketed since my last microwave purchase, and my main use is merely reheating coffee &/or leftovers.

This microwave replaces an older model. It was installed quickly. I bought grey only because black stainless was not an option. The reheat function is pretty accurate at timing based on the volume of food. The controls are basically intuitive and easy to use. This model is noticeably noisier than the previous one.

2025 JVM7195FL6DS 1.9 cu ft capacity Black Slate finger resistant is excellent size over the range microwave. The control and easy to read and easy to use. Features are great. Microwave is quiet and the fan is also quieter than older 2013 unit. Install is easy to follow and provides templates. The newer replacement microwave units due require some minor adjustments to upper kitchen cabinet for vent top mounting but manageable with the templates provides for marking locations. Thanks for continuing the GE PROFILE line of products.

We love the look of this oven... its very modern, and looks very sharp in our kitchen. The extra large capacity is nice and we like how the door is only as long as it needs to be. Our previous oven door extended to the full width of the appliance forcing you to stand further away when the door swings open but that is not the case with this one. All of the controls are intuitive and very responsive to moderate touch. No need to push hard on the touch pad. The over-the-range vent hood has a strong fan which helps exhaust steam while cooking on the rear burners of the stove below but when cooking on the forward burners, a lot of steam ends up going up the front of the microwave even if the fan is on a the highest speed. I would like it if the range hood could slide out to help capture the steam from the forward burners but I don't think that option exists on any models currently. So far we are very stratified with this Microwave oven.

This is my second time purchasing this microwave. I had my first one for about 5 years before it stopped working. It would have cost just as much to repair it as a new one. I would have given 5 stars, but I was disappointed in the previous one lasting a shorter time than anticipated. Otherwise, it is a great microwave.

Nice design; love the black slate finish. Matches my other black GE appliances nicely. Intuitive control panel. Microwave has the perfect wattage to pop microwave popcorn with very few remaining kernels (my gold standard/benchmark of a great microwave). Heating all other foods are a breeze. Rotating carousel is a nice touch to heating foods evenly. Easy to install with templates and instructions. Purchased from Home Depot during a sale. Excellent value.

Bought this microwave as part of a set including a refrigerator, dishwasher, and gas range/oven in summer of 2020. After just 4 years the microwave is broken. The microwave won't shut off and will just randomly run and heat up, which is quite dangerous. Just had the door sensors replaced and that did not fix the problem. Likely will require an expensive panel repair which is more than cost of new microwave. Would not recommend.

This microwave died on us after just 4 years. The repair man suggested we buy another microwave. The repair would cost just as much as a new one. Our last microwave lasted 20 years.

Has a better fan than the GE I replaced BUT the door cannot be operated quietly. It is cheap sounding and opens and closes loudly even when you try to do so gently. Hope it lasts longer than the 6 years my last GE lasted. Also, I had to replace the door switch on the last GE Microwave ($208) and 5 months later I had to purchase the new machine. Also own a GE Fridge and electric oven - both have issues. GE not very dependable.

Looks like it is cheaply made, as it replaces another GE model that only lasted 4-5 years. I see it has only one dimly lit bulb for a light as my other one had 2. Not very much light to cover the cooktop. Not happy about that. Hope this one last longer.

This is the 3rd time I have installed the exact same microwave due to the magnetron ceasing to work. I didn™€™t have a warranty on the 1st one so I called a local appliance repair shop explaining to them that the microwave wouldn™€™t heat anymore. They told me it was the magnetron, and that that part usually cost as much as a new microwave to replace. So, I eventually bought the same microwave again since it is the ONLY brand out there that has a ™€œBlack Slate™€ finish. We didn™€™t want a shiny black microwave when all of our other appliances are black slate, which isn™€™t shiny. Well the 2nd microwave eventually had the exact same problem happen after about 1 year of use. Luckily, this time I did buy the extended warranty, and after explaining the problem, I was issued an E-Gift card refunding my original purchase after about 10mins on the phone. Apparently, this problem must be rather well know in the unit, because there were 2 or 3 things they asked me to check before quickly issuing the refund. I asked if I could have it repaired because I didn™€™t think the black slate was being sold anymore, but luckily I did find one I could order online and have it shipped to me. So, I am on my 3rd microwave of the same model in 3 years. I hope that this one will actually last. And yes, I certainly bought the extended warranty again. Other than the heating element that continuously seems to break, I do like the microwave. I do seem to have to replace the bulbs underneath the microwave more frequently than I feel like I should, but that™€™s just a minor inconvenience. We do use them all the time. The microwave is fairly quiet compared to others, but I did just have cheap countertop microwaves that I used while I was out replacing the first 2. The last complaint I have is that the plastic that should be laminated to the keypad is already starting to come off after just 3 weeks of use. And no, it™€™s not the temporary plastic that protects the unit while shipping that you have to peel off after install, that plastic was blue. Unless someone else has a black slate microwave in the future, I will likely continue to buy this one and the extended warranty, solely because of the finish on the microwave. I would only recommend this microwave because of the finish, but if you are not dedicated to the black slate, try another model.

I bought this one to replace one I had purchased in January 2023. Unfortunately, with the weird weather our power went off and when it came back on, the microwave didn't. Actually, it was to replace the GE one that I had purchased over 10 years ago! I am a fan of GE! I would give it 5 stars, but it just doesn't seem as well made--as sturdily made--as the original one I purchased. I am completely satisfied with the operation of the product, which is why I purchased the same one after the electricity incident.
