Ridiculous that GE doesn't make this dishwasher safe. All of the burner inserts go into the dishwasher, no problem. So, of course, I thought the griddle insert would too....nope, came out covered in rust. I'd rate it a zero if possible.

We love this range and the Cast Iron Griddle feature but after a couple years of ownership the griddle is starting to chip. Im looking to buy a replacement for it but dissapointed to find out there is no original equipment replacement. (Non Reversible Cast Iron) Only this Aluminum one that apparently has horrible reviews. Is there some way of finding the original Cast Iron replacement for sale anywhere?

We purchased this oven/stove when we remodeled a year and a half ago. It started to knock and scratch even with careful washing and not sting metal. We hoped it would™™ve been cast iron from the start! We can™™t even use it now bc we™™re scared of the chemicals. It™™s a shame we™™d have to spend another $250

Had oven for 2 months and the griddle is discolored and rusted. Used soap and water only after seasoning. Does the griddle that comes with the oven the JXGRILL1 and not cast iron? Do I now need to replace it (after 2 months) with the $241 option griddle so to not have the same issues? Other than that I love oven but this is such an eyesore.

I believe this griddle should have been cast iron just like all the grates on the stove top. High heat degrades these surfaces no matter how careful you are with utensils. I can™™t believe these non stick coatings are still being used at all. How can I replace this with an uncoated cast iron griddle? My model is JGBS66REKSS.

The stove is excellent, but the griddle began to degrade shortly after purchase after being used about 3 or 4 times. I thought it was something I did to it, but no matter how careful I was, it got worse and worse. It is an eyesore. I logged on to find a replacement, just so I don't have to look at it (and perhaps I will be able to use the center burner, but from the reviews, it seems the griddle is problematic. I am afraid purchasing a replacement will be a waste of money. What to do?

This review is on the original grill that comes with the unit. Not the replacement grill.
I love the grill feature on my GE stove. I use it nearly every day. But like many of you am disappointed in the quality. Coated aluminum doesn™™t last long, even when using plastic cooking utensils. It would be better to pay a little more and have GE sell the unit with a cast iron grill to begin with. I™™ll have to spend another $100+ to replace it. :(

The stove itself is great, but the center griddle is of horrible quality. I™™ve nevertheless used the griddle for more than a spoon rest. When I do clean it, I don™™t clean with anything harsh. The stove really should come with a cast iron one, just like the burners.

Even though I always use a non metal specula and clean with a this griddle non abrasive sponge, the surface continues to flake off. It looked discolored and scratched after a few uses. Suggest getting the cast iron one.

We have had the stove for two years but only recently started using the grill. After maybe 10 uses, the coating is flaking off. We use teflon/rubber spatulas and we are careful. This is pretty disappointing and although we considered replacing the grill there is no reason to believe a new one would be any more reliable.

We love our new oven/range; however, the nonstick griddle (which is what I was most excited for) is awful. We have been using the range for about 6-8 months and use the griddle about once a week and only using plastic utensils; the non-stick coating is already pealing. Super disappointed!

Love the oven, but the griddle has to go. We are already planning on replacing it. The nonstick coating is WAY too fragile. If you have the option of getting a center grate, do that and purchase your own griddle. Ours is useless after 4 months.

Model # jgs760sel2ss. The stove itself is good, but the griddle is a health hazard. Within 18 months of purchase, the coating on the griddle started flacking off, migrating into my food. After much unnecessary back and forth with GE, they did replace it. Now 2 years later, the griddle that was black when it was new, is now silver, all the coating has been digested by my family. GE knows the issue, but they refuse to correct it, what are they waiting for....someone to get ill?

We purchased a GE gas convection stove with a center griddle, and within two years, the griddle coating started flacking off. Isn't healthy for me? I contacted GE, and after some back and forth, GE did replace it.....Now, two years after the replacement, it's flaking again, so much that the color of the griddle is now silver on most of it......Sadly, a company like GE can't offer products that will not only last but don't create health issues....they know the problems with these griddles, they choose not to address them.

Avoid this product. Only had ours for 2 yrs. It has never been in a sink of water, used soap, put in a dishwasher. I also only use plastic utensils. We cannot use it any longer because it is flaking off. The only option I was given was to replace it. Another $100 to last 2 years????? I mean I have cast iron pans that over 100 yrs old and do not look like this. So disappointed with GE

Never use it and is all corroded. So DISAPPOINTED. i was think to buy a new one even though mine is only two years old. I choose not to due to the same bad reviews about the quality. It will be just a waste of money.
