we had to replace an earlier model of the same microwave. This one is tinnier on opening the door than the older model which felt more solid and substantial. the fan on this one is much noisier and doesn't vent any better than the older model. not sure i'd buy another GE microwave based on this experience.

Oven is fine and works well. Well pleased with all aspects except two. During operation this oven, which replaced a 12 year old GE, is noticeably louder. And the operator learning curve is proving to be long. This probably results from not having a detailed User Manual.

when remodeling our kitchen recently, we needed a new microwave. upon searching the internet for a 2 cubic foot over the range microwave, several models of the GE Profile series would ALWAYS be listed as products to consider. Knowing the manager of our local Grand Appliance, we asked for his help and he pointed us to consider this (among other brands). We settled on thiis particular model due to the reviews we saw on-line and the manager's advice.

Lots of room to cook casseroles or small chicken . Controls buttons arranged nicely. Some take a little more exact pressing on the switch. Installation was easy. Had to change the old microwave hardwire to a receptacle style for the new microwave. Sensors are accurate in all settings Ventilation flume had to be changed from round to rectangular adapter from microwave

Poor. We like the look of it and it is the same base model as the previous one we bought 5 years ago. This new one, however, has an intermittent problem where the fan turns on for no reason and the light doesn't always turn on when you open the door. It appears to be a connection problem with the door. If I press up on the door slightly when the fan is running for no reason, the fan turns off. We now have a service call in on a microwave that is only two weeks old. Does anyone quality control the product before it leaves the factory? What a hassle for the customer.

I purchased GE Profile over the range microwave for my new home we had built in January 2025. It stopped heating in December 2025. Mind you I bought extended warranty for my appliances as it seemed like a great deal. They have sent 3 different technicians to my home to repair this microwave that is still under manufacturer warranty. They have replaced the Magnetron, Transformer, Diode, and now they think it™€™s the thermal fuse. Customer relations tells me they need service records and they requested from their repair company. I on the other hand have had enough of the guessing game, it™€™s under manufacturer warranty and I have requested a new microwave. They have spent on parts and service calls about $592. Service call $114 x3, parts $160 not including shipping. Ridiculous!! I have filed small claims lawsuit of which I should not have to do. Others may have been lucky with theirs, I got a lemon and the run around. Beware!!! Buy at your own risk

Bought this to replace a similar model that is no longer made. Pretty much the same microwave from the controls aspect; as well as, the same size. Issues: The mounting screws are in different locations than the discontinued model. The plug is 1/2 inch off the previous model location as well. The mounting bar is also different so you can™€™t use the previous bar. Now I have a bunch of holes in the cabinet above to accommodate the additional holes required. Needs to be a better method for hole placement than a larger piece of paper pattern. Should have been a no brainer to leave them the same. Irritating to say the lease.

An Ounce of Prevention is Worth a Pound of Cure

Bought the microwave as part of a 3 piece GE combo. We didn't really need one, but by buying the 3 it brought the price down to $149. We liked the look and the fact that there was no handle, a common problematic item of recent microwaves we bought. We, not even a month into the purchase, we had a major problem. The microwave kept shutting down for no reason. The repairman said the problem was in the door itself as it wasn't connecting properly. The fix, replace the door unit. While that problem has been solved from time to time the beep you normally here when you shut the door doesn't for no apparent reason. Not an issue as far as use, but annoying. Oh, and so you're aware, there is a charcoal filter inside the microwave needs to be replaced periodically, in our case after only 5 months of use. A light on the panel lights up to let you know. Never had to do this for any other microwave we've owned, just another money making scheme on GE part we feel. The same is true for the extremely expensive water filters on the refrigerator. Hopefully the range won't have any surprises. Should have done my research before buying this model. Looks like most folks are unhappy with it. You'd think GE would do something for its customers as obviously it's a faulty product.

Only seem to last about two years, but look nice

I have had two of these microwaves and they both abruptly stopped working correctly after about 2 to 3 years old, with normal household use. I eventually bought the second microwave because the repair tech was struggling to figure out how to repair the original so it was best to replace the whole unit. Both of them intermittently lose power and shut down while cooking. Also making weird sounds that are concerning for safety when not opperating.

We love the capacity and the control options. Installation was handled by a professional. It has a range of power. Ventilation isn't a problem as we vent out the house. Very happy.

Overall it is nice, sleek looking, 400 CFM fan is great, and functions well. The one thing I did not think of is the size of the door. Looks great when closed but it is a lot longer than you expect when open because it covers the full length of the machine. Doors with handles are shorter. Took a little adjusting to. My only complaint is there is a small gap at the top between the machine and bottom of the cabinet where the metal frame sags between the mounting bolts. Seems like a flaw in the design to me.

We purchased an entire set of GE Profile kitchen appliances. about a year and a half later, this microwave stopped working. GE only has a 1 year manufacturer's warranty and will not do anything to help you after that point. Not only that, if you call to speak with "GE CARES" and mention writing an online review, they will hang up on you....just happened to me.
