The new model has some different features but more than anything I really appreciate how it cooks, defrosts and reheats consistently every time!

Microwave and Stove USAGE Instructions

I have tried to find the usage manuals on whirlpools website for my microwave (mod# WMH31017HZ09 and my stove (mod# WGG745S0FS10). They just have owners and installation manuals. I have spent over 2 hours on the phone with whirlpool representatives trying to find a usage manual got transferred 4 times. Last transfer was to an operator who rudely told me to go to the producthelp.whirlpool.com website which is where I began. I have two units that do a lot but I don™€™t know how to use them and Whirlpool cannot, will not and do not know how to help me get a usage manual on their own products.

This microwave is a replacement to the original I had when I bought my house. It was a quick easy replacement, does all the things it says, and is trustworthy to work every time. The settings "key" on the inside bottom of door makes it easy to learn how to best use each setting and how long in respect to your item being placed inside. It's consistently heats food with an even heat that is adjustable depending on your needs. So glad I was able to get the same one again to fit overhead my stove. It is a bit prettier too since they updated a bit of its appearance. Bigger font on buttons as well. Happy with my purchase!

Works as intended / Easy install

After 1.5 weeks of use, I am very satisfied with this oven. It has been working exactly as intended, and it looks great in the kitchen. The installation process was straightforward and hassle-free because I was able to reuse the mounting bracket from the previous model that was already installed in the house. That saved both time and effort and made the replacement much easier than expected. My only complaint is the light above the stove. It still uses an incandescent bulb, which feels outdated for a modern appliance. In my opinion, an LED bulb would have been a better choice because it is more energy-efficient and longer-lasting. As a result, I have decided to replace the bulb myself. The oven replaced an older model that was manufactured in 2015. After many years of reliable service, it finally stopped working, which prompted me to purchase a replacement. Considering how long the previous oven lasted, I have high expectations for this new one. So far, it has performed well, and I am hopeful that it will provide many years of dependable service.

I bought this to replace my KitchenAid microwave that died after about a decade. My review is pretty straight-forward...It works. That's about all I can say. It's loud (both when it's running and the beeping when you program it to run) and it feels cheaply made. There's nothing particularly "nice" about it, but it works.

Very good looking. Template was not accurate so installing wasn't easy. Once installed I use it several times a day. Cooks frozen meals well. Very easy to use. Quiet fan. My old unit lasted 30 years it was a Whirlpool. I would be happy with half those years! Very easy to clean.

So far it's working fine. We're getting used to the controls which are different from out previous mw. I've used some of the different settings and they seem to do the job. it's bigger than the old one and sticks out from the cabinets a bit more, but it's nice to have the turntable. This is a good microwave at a great price.

This microwave is good looking and certainly heats the food. Our oven has a "tinny" sound when the vent is closing at the end of the heating cycle. I also think the overall sound when closing the door sounds a bit "tinny". We are a senior couple and would appreciate if the controls printed on the unit for "popcorn" or "defrost" and even the numbers and START and so forth were in larger/bolder print. They are a bit hard for our old eye to see....just a consideration if you have any vision issues at all. We haven't had it but a few weeks, but so far so good operationally.

This microwave works fine; but is very basic in features. We were upset with the inability to setup the timer end signal. Our prior Kenmore used to beep until you turn it off. This model gives 4 loud beeps and then repeats the beep like every minute. If your cooking needs an immediate reaction to the end of the cycle, it's not very convenient. It's all we found so far, but we've used it only a week.

I love this microwave so much that I replaced my previous one that had worn out after probably 10 years with the same model. It does everything I want in a microwave, with exception I would love to have had the quick set buttons for setting the time. This product is a full-function microwave that has a large interior that allows for warming and cooking large containers. The keypad is easy to reach and the graphics make it simple to use. The unit seems to be very efficient in operating mode, and very quickly handles any heating or cooking task. The beeper signal ending an operation is loud enough to be heard if you are out of the room, letting you know the job is completed. The styling is very slick, and would be compatible with almost any decor.

The Microwave protective cover over interior door glass has waves in it and creating issues with wife who has siezures. The protective film waves reflects light off it in different directions. Flashing lights is a triger point for siezures.

Works great. The menu for the preset buttons rather confusing. Wish there was better explanation on how they work. After the heating process the oven beeps 4 times. Other microwaves stop the beeps when the door is opened. Not this model, continues to beep while the door is open. I find this annoying.

Overall microwave works great as expected and same as our previous GE model. There are a couple features we miss from our GE: programmable night light, preprogrammed buttons for quick minute access ( press 2 for 2 minutes without pressing start). Again works very well just conveniences we had that we now miss and didn't think we had to consider.

Will it follow in the footsteps of the prior?

This Whirlpool microwave replaced a prior Whirlpool microwave. I only have one concern; the prior microwave was "cooked" by the stovetop and oven below it and the chrome peeled off the plastic. This produced sharp edges of chrome that sometimes if unaddressed users got cuts from. Otherwise, the function of that microwave was flawless. I expect this new microwave to be a similar experience.

Range Vent Need Hood to be Most Effective

Range Vent does not have a hood underneath the microwave. No hood allows steam to heat the door handle and control panel which will cause a shorter life, because electronic components on control panel circuit board will fail early from the excess heat. Range Vents need to have a hood and very strong vent fan.

The microwave seems very powerful and does a great job. The only downside is that the door is noisy. Sometimes you want to heat something up while others are asleep. But basically the metal on metal hitting together is very loud. But seems to be with about most microwaves.

Why put a high dollar halogen bulb in the exterior

Do not buy. In the age of LED lighting, Whirlpool decided the best they can do is a tiny what looks to be a halogen bulb that puts out very little light. I installed today and checked all functions. When i turned on the light, I checked the high and low light settings. My daughter wanted to see the low light setting. I pushed the panel 1 time for high. It came on then went out. I removed the cover for the light to see a blown bulb. WTF. I tried to get the light bulb out and stopped because I thought the bulb was about to break. Now what? Electronic tech and residential electrician. What garbage. I have purchased many Whirlpool products in the past with great results, what happened. I guess just don't buy the microwave.

Worked fine and was very convenient to use but, at six months, the heating elements stopped working. It was under warranty and the appliance repairman knew right away what was wrong. So, he ordered the parts and I am without the microwave for a few weeks. He said that it is rare for these particular parts to go out this early in the life of the machine.
